Work Assessment:
This component may last up to 20 days and is a paid experience for the participant. During this Work Assessment period we work to identify significant barriers to employment. These barriers might include:

  • Identifying a disabling condition
  • Attendance
  • Punctuality
  • Reaction to Supervision
  • Interaction with Co-Workers
  • Work Speed
  • Work Quality
  • Stamina
  • Dexterity
  • Dress and Appearance

Upon completion of the Work Assessment we facilitate a formal staffing with the participant, the VR Counselor and any other pertinent care providers involved in the participant’s programming. A report is provided that includes a SUMMARY of the assessment, participant’s STRENGTHS in relation to employment, identified BARRIERS to employment and RECOMMENDATIONS for referral or continued services. We value opportunity!

Work Adjustment Training:
This component is a paid work experience and may last as long as two or three months. A participant is placed on one of our 10 contracted work crews. A Work Adjustment Coordinator is assigned to develop specific goals and objectives to address the barriers to employment that were identified during the Work Assessment phase. This is an intensive one-on-one program. Participant’s progress on their individual goals is communicated and tracked on a daily basis to provide concrete feedback to the participant. Working together to make a difference!

Direct Job Placement And Training:Quote
Placement services consist of (5) basic units:

  • Developing the Individual Job Development Plan
  • Participating in Job Club Weekly
  • Job Finding Services
  • Job Coaching Services
  • Successful Closure

Weekly Job Club:
This is a working support group that consists of all participants actively seeking employment. The Job Club meets every Monday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. During this time each participant is responsible for researching which employers to contact within that week. Objectives are established on an individual basis for how many “new” employer contacts to make each week.

The previous weeks progress is discussed and the Job Developer facilitates follow-through with employers contacted. Additionally each week there is a 15 minute session included in Job Club to refresh the participant on individual skills learned during the Job Skills Class. Guest speakers from the business community present on specific job openings within their companies.

Job Finding Services:
The assigned Job Developer has goals and objectives for contacting new employers on behalf of the participant. Progress notes are kept on a daily basis. The individual case is staffed on a monthly basis to report individual progress until the job developer locates and negotiates employment.

Job Coaching/Follow-up:
Once a job is developed that meets the participant’ s individual employment needs the necessary job “Coaching” is provided on the worksite to facilitate the participant’s transition into employment. How much support will be provided is based on the individuals specific needs. This will occur over the first 90 days of employment to ensure the success of the individuals job placement.
